Jesus Hates Me - Wayne Lemon

Synopsis:  About a guy, Ethan, who still lives at home in his mom's trailer at a mini-golf course in Texas.  As the title indicates, he has a difficult relationship with Jesus and doesn't seem to get along with him.  He is a former all-state quarterback who's knee goes out in a game, so now he's just an ex-high school athlete who doesn't know what to do and wants to get out.  His mom, Annie, is attractive and crazy and always seems to be the reason he can't leave.  His best friend, Trane, his go-to receiver in high school, and his love interest, Lizzy might be a big part of the reason he's stayed.

My take:  This play was kind of hard to grasp.  At first, it just seemed like I was reading from one-liner to one-liner, but by the end it seemed to actually take itself seriously.  It has some good lines, but it doesn't seem like something I'd like to do in the future.  Ethan is a good role for me.

6 out of 10
